ProApis Move
From a record to a clear overview
01
Colony counts, not individual hive cards
Start with the number of colonies at each apiary on a chosen date. Arrivals, departures and winter counts build the history. There is no need for individual colony records or to re-enter every earlier movement.
02
Traceable colony movements
Origin, destination, date and quantity belong together. ProApis Move separates preparation, notification, received consent and the actual transport. You can see what happened and which responses have been recorded.
03
Records to take with you
Stock records and movements belong in your files. Exports and printing are included in the free scope. Incomplete entries remain possible, with missing information clearly marked for later completion.
Sending a notification does not constitute approval. Replies are recorded separately; accepted notification channels must be clarified with the responsible cantonal authorities.

Electronic stock records
The FSVO permits your own electronic system if it includes at least the model form’s data and meets the legal requirements (instructions, section 9).
Notify the inspectors at the departure and destination apiaries before changing inspection districts. Aargau publishes five districts with direct telephone and email contacts. The annual survey and site updates do not replace this movement notification.
Notification channel and notice period
According to the cantonal bee inspector’s written reply (reviewed on 28 October 2026): use BeeTraffic, email or telephone to contact the responsible inspectors directly. Give at least three days’ notice, including name and contact details, origin and destination apiaries, colony count and planned date. Ordinary notifications generally require no special signed form or PDF. According to this reply, Aargau requires neither a migratory beekeeping permit nor a health certificate; requirements of other cantons and mating stations still apply. Restricted areas or other special restrictions entail additional conditions; movements are generally prohibited in such cases. Brood-free mating units moved to mating stations are exempt from notification.
Notify the departure and destination inspectors before changing inspection districts. The official page provides contacts and relevant documents.
Notification channel and notice period
Prior notification to both inspectors is explicitly required. The joint list dated 11 August 2025 provides telephone and email contacts for the inner and outer parts of the canton. It specifies neither a number of days nor a mandatory submission channel.
Notify the departure and destination inspectors before changing inspection districts. The official page provides contacts and relevant documents.
Notification channel and notice period
Prior notification to both inspectors is explicitly required. The joint list dated 11 August 2025 assigns municipalities to inspectors and provides telephone and email contacts. It specifies neither a number of days nor a mandatory submission channel.
Responsible authority: Amt für Veterinärwesen Bern
Notify both inspectors before changing inspection districts. Page 16 of the 2025 training material by Walter Gasser, Bern Veterinary Office, explicitly lists the hotline 0848 700 001 for this purpose. Inspection districts correspond to the ten administrative districts.
Notification channel and notice period
Telephone: 0848 700 001. The official training material is hosted by the cantonal beekeeping association VBBV. This section does not specify a fixed number of days’ notice or submission by email/PDF; agree these details with the inspector.
The canton requires every movement to be reported to its bee inspectorate. Its published leaflet lists BeeTraffic, telephone and email. Sites must also be registered through Ebenrain.
Report every movement to the inspector responsible for the area. The canton provides inspector contacts, registration forms, stock records and treatment journals.
Notification channel and notice period
According to the written reply from DSSSE Geneva (reviewed on 29 October 2026): report movements via BeeTraffic, telephone or email directly to the responsible bee inspectors, always before transport. Also report migratory beekeeping to the cantonal service (called SCAV in the reply) to obtain an apiary number; all apiaries must be identified. For arrivals from another canton, the reply requires a health certificate or authorisation from the inspector of the district of origin. Confirm the exact form with the inspector. No specific notice period in days or acceptance of signed PDFs is expressly confirmed.
Responsible authority: Amt für Lebensmittelsicherheit und Tiergesundheit (ALT)
Migratory beekeeping requires a cantonal permit in addition to notification under animal-disease legislation. Under Articles 4–6 of the Glarus ordinance, a written application must be submitted to the migration coordinator at least three weeks before migration begins. Requirements include healthy colonies, the authorised local breed and the landowner’s consent.
Notification channel and notice period
Migration application: in writing, at least three weeks beforehand. The ordinance (version of 1 September 2014) does not specify whether email satisfies the written-form requirement. Confirm the current recipient and submission method with ALT. This permit is separate from notification to bee inspectors; do not apply the Graubünden deadline to Glarus.
Responsible authority: Amt für Lebensmittelsicherheit und Tiergesundheit (ALT)
The accompanying document currently linked on the ALT website requires a copy to reach the destination inspector at least three working days before the colonies move. Record origin, destination, apiary numbers, coordinates, number and type of colonies and movement date. For colonies arriving from another canton, confirmation by the origin inspector with stamp and signature is mandatory.
Notification channel and notice period
Submit the accompanying document with the required confirmations; it must reach the destination inspector at least three working days beforehand. The form does not specify whether the copy should be submitted as an email attachment or on paper. Inform both inspectors in advance. An older 2014 article mentioning ten days is not used here as the current deadline.
The 2026 guide specifies five days’ notice and an inspection report for purchases within Switzerland. Notify ECR and the regional inspector before temporary migrations.
Notification channel and notice period
Purchases within Switzerland: notify the regional inspector five days before placing the colonies and provide an inspection report and proof of origin. Temporary migration: notify ECR and the regional inspector beforehand; a provisional plate is issued. The handbook provides contacts but does not prescribe a particular channel for these notifications.
Notify the departure and destination inspectors before changing inspection districts. The official page provides contacts and relevant documents.
Notification channel and notice period
The official leaflet dated 7 June 2023 requires notice to origin and destination inspectors before changing districts and lists direct telephone/email contacts. It specifies neither a fixed number of days nor a particular submission channel. The separately stated one-week deadline concerns site registration, not movements.
For moves outside the canton, email both inspectors and the buyer three days ahead; await both confirmations. Within the canton, the leaflet allows a register entry between existing apiaries, subject to restrictions.
Responsible authority: Amt für Verbraucherschutz und Veterinärwesen St. Gallen
The cantonal form ‘Bienenverkehr innerhalb der Schweiz’ records a change of inspection district. A copy must reach the inspector at the new location at least three working days before the move. It includes the keeper’s declaration, the origin inspector’s consent and the destination inspector’s acknowledgement.
Notification channel and notice period
Use the cantonal form with the required signatures and inform both inspectors beforehand. The three-working-day deadline is explicit; the form does not prescribe email or post as the submission method. Within the inspection district it specifies stock records retained for three years; restrictions still apply.
Report movements into or out of the canton to departure and destination inspectors in advance. The official page links restrictions, contacts and the B2 apiary survey form.
Notification channel and notice period
According to the written reply from the Schaffhausen veterinary office dated 27 October 2026, movements can in principle also be reported directly to the bee inspector by email or telephone. Apart from BeeTraffic, there is no prescribed form; confirm the required information and notice period with the inspector. Schaffhausen does not issue migratory beekeeping permits. The inspector responsible for the district of origin must confirm the colony’s freedom from epizootic disease. Acceptance of signed PDFs was not expressly confirmed.
Notify the origin and destination inspectors at least two days before changing inspection districts. Official leaflet H2212 explicitly names the inspectors of Basel-Landschaft and Solothurn. Any required health certificate is issued by the origin inspector.
Notification channel and notice period
BeeTraffic, email or telephone. Leaflet H2212 (8 August 2024) specifies at least two days’ notice and instructs the BL/SO inspectors to reply within 24 hours. No response does not replace any required consent.
The 2026 beekeeper information requires prior notice to both inspectors when changing districts and points to the new BeeTraffic web service. Contacts and recording forms are linked centrally.
Notification channel and notice period
BeeTraffic is explicitly listed. Confirm alternative email or paper procedures with the inspector.
Responsible authority: Ufficio del veterinario cantonale Ticino
UVC describes BeeTraffic 2.0 for notifying departure and destination inspectors, with a separate confirmation. It also provides a form for movements outside the canton.
Notification channel and notice period
BeeTraffic is explicitly listed. Confirm alternative email or paper procedures with the inspector.
Responsible authority: Veterinärdienst der Urkantone
The 2026 letter specifies at least one week’s notice; await both consents. For migratory beekeeping in Uri, also consult the published instructions and migration permit.
The canton’s published register instructions require notification before changing inspection districts. The 2026 inspector list assigns responsibilities by region. It provides telephone numbers and email addresses where available; some contacts are explicitly listed for telephone contact.
Notification channel and notice period
Contact origin and destination inspectors using the 2026 list. The reviewed instructions state ‘before moving’ but give no fixed number of days or uniform digital submission channel. The register records the movement and does not replace prior notification.
Report movements outside the inspection district or canton beforehand and await the inspector’s response. The canton-published leaflet explicitly lists BeeTraffic, telephone, email and electronic stock records.
The canton publishes inspectorate contacts and registration and stock-control forms. The reviewed overview does not specify a digital channel for movement notifications.
Notification channel and notice period
The cantonal form explains prior notification to origin and destination inspectors when changing districts and the recording of arrivals and departures. It specifies no additional notice period or particular digital movement channel. Notification to the agriculture office concerns registration, not clearance for a movement.
Notify both inspectors before changing district or canton. The website links restriction zones and a separate apiary-update form for the veterinary office.
Notification channel and notice period
Prior notification to both inspectors is explicitly required. Section 5.13 of the official duties specification dated 6 March 2024 confirms their responsibility for bee movement notifications. It specifies neither a fixed number of days nor a mandatory electronic channel. Site updates with the veterinary office remain a separate step.
Veterinary medicine authorisation applies nationally. Also follow cantonal treatment requirements. The official resources provide product and documentation information.
Flags identify the selected canton. ProApis is not a cantonal authority; these sources do not establish official recognition of our software.
An alternative to BeeTraffic?
BienenSchweiz describes BeeTraffic 2.0 as a web application for preparing movement notifications with saved apiaries and current colony counts. The ProApis Move concept also focuses on a traceable stock history and connection with ProApis Health. This does not rule out unverified BeeTraffic features. No hands-on feature comparison has been performed.
Outlook: Tierverkehr 4.0
We follow the development of Tierverkehr 4.0 and are examining future connection options. No interface, access or integration has been confirmed.
